Security in God is something, as humans, we tend to lack. As ladies, we always want to control everything and often times, rely on others to help make our decisions. Sometimes we think that this is better, but it’s not. Here are 3 biblical ways to be secure in our relationship with God in trusting His control.
- Knowing God’s Goals and Intentions
Knowing His goals and intentions for us will change our mindset of how to view God and be more aware of His character. If we only focus on the negatives that God does or have done to humans, our mindset of him being a Father could shift and give us an unhealthy fear——such as, “this sin is too strong to bear guess hell is where I’m going”. The more we tell ourselves these unhealthy fears the more we breathe it into existence and start believing in it. Here’s a character verse to take hold of:
Be faithful for He is faithful
“But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.”1
Crazy as it sounds, one of God’s goals is to strengthen and protect us. Even more, his protection and strength is so he can protect us from the evil one. That is satan. Satan seeks to destroy believers by confusing us of our standards and values. Satan uses people, objects, and substances, and other evil deeds such as sex before marriage to separate us from God. God is only calling us to remain faithful because He is even faithful to us. He wants us to follow Him through and through and to trust him and be secure in Him because His expectation for faithfulness is for us to succeed and not fail.
2. Trust God with your Needs- Pray to Him Daily
Praying to God is a practice that should never be questioned. When you feel unsure about Whats to happen in your life and what to do next, prayer is the best way to go. The action of prayer itself sends peace, calming, and stillness to your body. In addition, it makes you feel vulnerable—which God wants.
I remember when my mother was very I’ll and a few years to live, she prayed heavily and she hasn’t died yet.
“But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.”2
Keep in mind, if it’s praying for things that are obviously sinful, then that’s not of God. There’s a chance it won’t change but you will.
3. Read Scripture of what God gives
Reading scripture will enable you to have trust God and have immense security in Him. Scripture is not only about direct access of knowing God but it guides you of what you should do.
“You will know that your tent is secure; you will take stock of your property and find nothing missing.”3
Isn’t that peaceful? It shows me that there is literally NOTHING that I would need to do to gain more. I need to do the minimal and God will give me what I am responsible with. I love it.
I’m not married right now and I want to one day but I am learning to be responsible with what I already have. I am actively learning how to build and serve with my finances. So, that is something I am giving to God and he’s continuing to bless me left and right. He can too!
Alright ladies that’s it for today’s post! God bless and remember that Jesus loves you!🌸
